Nick Looby joined Friends Against Scams just before Christmas 2021 as the newest SCAMbassador to help spread awareness of scams in his community. Have a read of Nick’s story below:

“I’m a communication guy and director of Feet on the Ground Training Ltd, Feet on the Ground Events Ltd and co-founder of Chatbox Productions. I’m also the author of ‘Modern Zombies – how to stay ahead of the horde and communicate your way to incredible success’.

My greatest passion is encouraging and facilitating inspiring conversations and strong communication in every training course, event or chat show I’m involved in.

As we move increasingly online and our technology replaces the way we interact with one another, we are forgetting how powerful we are as communicators and our relationships (business and personal) are poorer because of it. This has led to a huge reduction in the levels of trust we have with one another and is something the criminals are very sophisticated at playing to.

Like most of us, I witness multiple types of scams (almost daily) and understand how this can shape our vulnerabilities and undermine our society, a society already suffering from a reduction of trust.

I am incredibly keen to do what I can to redress the balance a little and bring back the trust that we all deserve.  One of the ways I can help as a SCAMbassador is to raise awareness and shout loud and often about the evil and manipulating actions of known and yet to be exposed criminals.

Knowledge is power, as the saying goes, and it would be magical to see a future where we could, once again, believe what we read, see and hear and to build an environment where trust is once again a reasonable and reliable expectation.”
